Simulation

Saved formation-model runs for inspection, comparison, and reproduction.

Purpose and status

The EOTU simulator implements the seven-stage formation sequence as a deterministic, seed-driven numerical model. It is used to test whether published rules, together with explicitly recorded implementation assumptions, reproduce the stated sequence and to identify questions that require further theory work.

These files report the behavior of the implementation. They are not independent experimental confirmation of EOTU and do not make a simulation result part of the theory. Published rules, forced behavior, numerical assumptions, and emergent results must remain distinct when interpreting the data.

Grid 96 — complete visual sequence

The 96 × 96 lattice is the simulator's drawn model and runs Chapters 1 through 7. Its relatively small particle population produces substantial seed-to-seed variation, so use the Grid 288 set for formation ratios and distributions when both sets contain the metric.

Grid 288 — formation statistics

The 288 × 288 lattice runs Chapters 1 through 6 with roughly ten times as many protons per seed. Chapter 7 is not run at this size. Contact and step scales are adjusted by 96 divided by the grid width so each Region retains approximately the same neighborhood per cycle; that scaling is an implementation assumption. Compare ratios rather than raw counts across grid sizes.

How to read the files

  • Read measured values from the applicable measured run record. Each saved seed carries its own update timestamp.
  • The former flattened CSV files have been retired. The measured run record contains the complete values and can be exported as CSV for a specific analysis when needed.
  • Use the trace and view files for playback and evolution through the chapters. Their chapter stamps identify the model that produced each chapter; the aggregate view does not represent any one physical run.
  • Do not compare raw counts between Grid 96 and Grid 288. Compare intensive quantities, such as ratios and fractions, while retaining the grid-scaling assumption.

After a chapter changes, that chapter can be rebuilt without replacing the later chapters. The Statistics page uses the stamps in the trace and view records to identify chapters made by an older model. A complete release set is rebuilt before publication.
